Neuro Linguistic Programming
Report (NLP)
Day 1.
What is NLP?
This is the beginning of a five step course that you have signed
up to through thebodymindandsoul.com. This first installment will
explain to you what NLP is about. The description below is a very
brief introduction but one that will hopefully quickly show you
the potential power of NLP.
The human mind understands the world through its sensory perceptions.
Thousands and thousands of messages are being sent to the brain
every second. In order to function and not be paralyzed by all
this, the information is filtered to the conscious mind. For example
you probably are not aware of how the seat feels underneath you
until it is mentioned and brought to your conscious attention.
These filters and how they are applied are what makes our personalities
different. They affect how we respond to different situations
and are therefore important in everything we do. What NLP manages
is the changing of those filters to create a reaction to a situation
in the way that is desired. This has been done by modeling top
performers and uncovering the filters that they use in the world.
For example an individual may fear presentations and another may
not find them traumatic at all. The difference is how they interpret
the external stimuli and bring them into their consciousness.
Neither individual is either more brave or strong, each is just
reacting to what their brain is telling them.
If we break the ideas down into steps the process is simple.
1). Figure out and decide what it is we specifically want to achieve.
2). Study and understand what would have to be in place in order
for you to achieve number 1.
3). Look at where you are now and what behavior needs to change.
Once we have the above information the techniques in NLP allow
you to change your behavior.
In the reports that follow we have put together some of the most
useful and easy to use NLP techniques. The techniques have been
chosen because of their wide application. They are useful for
everyone regardless of what their personal goals are.
