WAYS TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS SAFELY AT HOME
Making your own products is not only fun but also you know exactly
what is in it!
MASSAGE OIL - See “Which oil should I
choose?” for the properties of a selection of vegetable
oils.
Always purchase organic, cold pressed oil from a reputable supplier
or a good Healthfood store like Fresh & Wild. Choose your
essential oil/s according to your skin type or specific problem.
Mix as per instructions below for a 1% or 2% blend.
CREAMS AND LOTIONS
Purchase an UNFRAGRANCED cream or lotion (baby products are
a good alternative as long as they are unfrangranced). Choose
your essential oil/s according to your skin type or specific
problem. Mix as per instructions below for a 1% or 2% blend.
1% AND 2%, BLEND
For a 1% blend = 1 drop of essential oil per 5ml/gm of cream,
lotion or oil.
I.e. 50ml of cream = TOTAL of 10 drops of essential oil/s
For a 2% blend = 2 drops of essential oil per
5ml/gm of cream, lotion or oil.
I.e. 50ml of cream = TOTAL of 20 drops of essential oil/s
HAIR SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER
To personalise your hair products by adding Rosemary, Lavender,
Chamomile or other essential oil/s to your shampoo and/or conditioner.
Add 10 drops of essential oil/s per 100ml of shampoo or conditioner.
ALOE VERA GEL
This blend is not to be taken internally, but used externally
on the skin. For every 100ml of Aloe Vera gel, add 10 drops
of essential oil/s. KEEP IN THE FRIDGE for a cooling, soothing
gel.
LIQUID SOAP and SHOWER GEL
Start with a non-scented liquid soap or shower gel and for every
100ml add 10 drops of essential oil/s. This is a simple way
to personalise your bathroom products.
