Hopefully the summer has put you in the mood
to try some healthy summer food recipes. But heres why we allways
feel so much better in the summer. As the weather gets warmer
and the days lengthen the body is much more receptive to change
and improvement. Extra light brings extra energy, and that in
turn give us more stamina and incentive to eat better, hydrate
more, cleanse and nurture. At this time of year fresh local
vegetables and fruit are in season and more readily available.
instead of getting Strawberries from Turkey, for instance, we
can get them from our own back garden. not only will all the
produce be so much less depleted in nutrients but hopefully
if we can grow them ourselves they will be organic too - at
a fraction of the cost.
When the weather is warmer and the nights lighter, we can exercise
more and the fresh air, (rather than in an air conditioned building).
Exercise helps to strengthen the body, it gets rid of toxins
through sweating, improved circulation and encouraging the lymphatic
system to drain better and it also lifts the spirit and makes
us feel better.
The energy we receive from sunlight is uplifting and beneficial.
Sunlight also supplies us with Vitamin D - the type that cannot
be obtained in any other way.
No wonder we all feel better and happier at this time of year
especially when the sun shines!
