WHICH OIL SHOULD I CHOOSE?
Why use vegetable oil and not mineral oil? Mineral oil sits
on the skin and acts as a barrier which can clog the pores resulting
in spots and blackheads. Where as vegetable oil penetrates the
skin feeding and moisturising it.
Vegetable oils have different properties; some
are more suitable for facial use whereas others are more suitable
for body use. Always use unrefined, organic, cold pressed oils,
as these have been through the least amount of processing during
its extraction. Highly refined oils are obtained via high temperatures
or chemical extraction – do not use these oils for cosmetic
purposes.
AVOCADO (latin. Persea Americana)
An extremely nourishing oil for mature and dry skin, high in
Vitamins A, B, and D, and minerals. The unrefined oil is dark
green in colour and can go cloudy at low temperatures. Avocado
oil penetrates the skin very quickly leaving the skin soft and
silky!
MACADAMIA (latin. Macadamia integrifolia)
Macadamia nut oil contains palmitoleic acid, which is also found
in the sebum (natural oil) of the skin, which makes it fabulous
for very dry irritated skin.
